If I'm being honest about this image, I have to say that I feel a little guilty about taking it. This street performer from Africa did not want his picture taken. He did, however, want to proudly show off his beautiful handmade instrument. You could tell that this was his most precious possession, and he actually wanted me to take a picture of it, which I did. But I had to somehow capture the man behind the instrument. I took the shot you see here, but I do sort of feel like it was stealing a little bit of his soul... hence the title of this image.
